A plain answer: Sealname does not accept Monero. Here is what it accepts instead, which registrars take XMR, and how to keep a crypto payment private without it.

**Quick answer — Can I buy a domain with Monero (XMR) at Sealname?**

No. **Sealname**, a private domain name registration service paid in crypto, does not accept Monero (XMR). It accepts Bitcoin (BTC), Tether (USDT), USD Coin (USDC), Ethereum (ETH), Solana (SOL), Litecoin (LTC), from a top-up of $25. A .com costs $12.99/year, WHOIS privacy included, with no ID and no KYC. As of October 2026, Njalla, OrangeWebsite, 1984 Hosting and Incognet say they accept XMR.

## Does Sealname accept Monero?

No. Sealname does not accept Monero (XMR), and the payment page offers no XMR option. We say it plainly so you can decide before you open an account.

Never send XMR to an address that claims to belong to Sealname. Sealname shows deposit addresses only on the payment page of your account, and none of them is a Monero address.

## What can you pay with instead of Monero?

Sealname offers 7 ways to pay: six coins, with USDT on two networks. Each guide explains the network, the confirmations and the asset that pays the fee:

- [Bitcoin (BTC)](https://sealname.com/pay/bitcoin/) — on the Bitcoin network, from any Bitcoin or hardware wallet.
- [USDT on Tron (TRC-20)](https://sealname.com/pay/usdt-trc20/) — an exact dollar amount, often the cheapest network for USDT.
- [USDT on Ethereum (ERC-20)](https://sealname.com/pay/usdt-erc20/) — dollars from an Ethereum wallet.
- [USDC](https://sealname.com/pay/usdc/) — on Ethereum (ERC-20) only.
- [Ethereum (ETH)](https://sealname.com/pay/ethereum/) — on the Ethereum main network.
- [Solana (SOL)](https://sealname.com/pay/solana/) — native SOL, with very low network fees.
- [Litecoin (LTC)](https://sealname.com/pay/litecoin/) — low fees, from a wallet or an exchange.

You top up a prepaid balance once, from $25. New domains, renewals and transfers are then paid from it. The [crypto payment hub](https://sealname.com/buy-domain-with-crypto/) compares every option.

## What is the trade-off with registrars that accept XMR?

The main difference is who holds the domain. Each registrar above accepts XMR, but the legal holder of the domain is not always you.

**The proxy model.** Per its terms quoted in 2023, Njalla registers domains in its own name unless the customer asks otherwise. ICANN's 2013 Registrar Accreditation Agreement (§3.7.7.3) sets a rule for that model. A registrant of record who licenses a domain to someone else is liable for it. It escapes that liability only by disclosing the licensee's contact data within 7 days, on reasonable evidence of actionable harm.

**The privacy model.** By default Sealname registers domains in your name; the proxy model is a separate paid option, [Registered in our name](https://sealname.com/registered-in-our-name/). You are the registrant of record, and the domain is yours. The public record shows our privacy service's contact details instead of yours. Your transfer code is free, from your account, at any time.

**The price.** A .com costs $12.99 a year at Sealname, about 25% less than Njalla's €15. It costs the same to renew.

If paying in XMR matters more to you than holding the domain in your own name, one of these registrars may suit you better. Read [who owns my domain](https://sealname.com/who-owns-my-domain/) and the [Njalla comparison](https://sealname.com/alternatives/njalla/) before you choose.

## How do you keep a crypto payment private without Monero?

Pay from a wallet you control, and keep it apart from your public identity. The coins Sealname accepts run on public blockchains: anyone who knows your wallet address can see that it paid our address.

1. **Use your own wallet, not a shared exchange account.** If you withdraw from an exchange, the exchange knows the withdrawal is yours.
2. **Use a wallet you never link to your name.** Do not pay from an address you have posted on social media or on a donation page.
3. **Know what Sealname sees.** Sealname sees the address that paid, never who owns it. It never asks for an ID document, a card, bank details, a phone number or a postal address.
4. **Know what stablecoins allow.** The issuers of USDT and USDC can freeze tokens on addresses they block. This does not affect normal payments, but pay from a wallet you control.
5. **Keep the domain record private too.** Where the registry allows it, your name, address and phone never appear in public WHOIS/RDAP.

Whatever the coin, Sealname keeps very little: your email, your account number, your domains and your balance. We keep no connection logs, no IP address with your orders, and no wallet address or TXID. Details are on [the data we collect](https://sealname.com/data-we-collect/).

## Monero and domain payments: FAQ

### Does Sealname accept Monero (XMR)?

No. Sealname does not accept Monero, and no XMR option exists on the payment page. It accepts BTC, USDT, USDC, ETH, SOL, LTC only. Cards, PayPal and bank transfers are not accepted either. Never send XMR to an address that claims to be ours: Sealname has no Monero address.

### Why do people look for a registrar that accepts Monero?

Many privacy-minded buyers ask for Monero because it is designed to keep transactions private. The coins Sealname accepts use public blockchains instead. You can still keep a payment private: pay from your own wallet, not a shared exchange account, and never link that wallet to your name.

### Which domain registrars accept Monero?

As of October 2026, Njalla, OrangeWebsite, 1984 Hosting and Incognet say they accept XMR, per their own pages or directories. Njalla uses a proxy model: it registers domains in its own name unless asked otherwise. OrangeWebsite shows its own details in WHOIS by default, per a secondary source. 1984 Hosting and Incognet do not state who holds the domain. Compare them on [private registrars](https://sealname.com/compare/private-registrars/).

### Is Sealname cheaper than registrars that accept Monero?

For a .com, yes, as of October 2026. Sealname charges $12.99 a year, renewal included. Njalla charges €15 (about $17.38), 1984 Hosting $15.99, OrangeWebsite €18.90 and Incognet about $17.76, per their pages or the sources listed. Prices change, so check each site before you buy.

### Is a Bitcoin or USDT payment to Sealname private?

It is private from Sealname's side, but the blockchain is public. Sealname never asks who owns the wallet that paid. Anyone who knows your address can see that it paid our address, though, and an exchange knows its own customers. Paying from a wallet you control keeps the link to your name weaker.

### Do I own the domain if I pay Sealname in crypto?

Yes. Whatever coin you use, you are the registrant of record of the domain by default (or our company, with the paid [Registered in our name](https://sealname.com/registered-in-our-name/) option). The public record shows our privacy service's contact details where the registry allows it. Your transfer code is free, from your account, at any time, and there is no exit fee if you leave.

### What does Sealname know about my payment?

Very little. Sealname matches a payment by its exact amount and credits your balance: it does not record the paying wallet address or the TXID. We keep no connection logs and no IP address with your orders, and data is never sold. The transaction itself is public on its blockchain, so pay from a wallet you control.
