How do I get help from support?
Write to [email protected]. Email replies within 12 hours, 7 days a week, including help with DNS, transfers and renewals.
A message we can answer quickly includes:
- the domain name concerned, for example example.com;
- what you tried and what happened, with the exact error message if there is one;
- for a payment: the coin, the network and the exact amount you sent, never a private key or seed phrase;
- for a transfer: the registrar you are moving from or to.
Write from the verified email of the domain when you can. It helps us confirm that the request comes from the registrant. Do not send your 16-digit account number: we never ask for it.
How do I report abuse?
Email [email protected]. You do not need an account, and you do not need to be a customer. Include the domain, the full URLs, the type of abuse and your evidence, such as screenshots, headers or the page source.
- Every report receives an automatic acknowledgement with a reference number.
- Phishing, malware, botnets and fraud that takes money from victims are acted on within 24 hours of a well-documented report.
- Child sexual abuse material is acted on immediately, and the URLs are reported to NCMEC.
- Other reports are reviewed within 2 business days.
Claims about fraud, illegal content or copyright need a court order or a dispute procedure such as the UDRP. The full process is on the abuse page, and the rules every customer accepts are in the acceptable use policy.
How do authorities and lawyers send legal requests?
Follow the law enforcement page. Customer data goes out only on a Panamanian court order: a foreign lawyer, a private company or a foreign government gets nothing without Panamanian legal process. The only other cases are ICANN duties of every registrar: urgent requests under ICANN rules (an imminent threat to life, serious bodily injury, critical infrastructure, or child exploitation), trademark disputes under the UDRP or URS, data escrow and compliance checks. See the disclosure policy.
We notify the customer before any disclosure, unless the Panamanian court order forbids it. Every request is counted in the quarterly transparency report. Trademark owners who want a domain transferred should read UDRP and disputes. A complaint alone never takes a domain down: copyright, defamation, political or competitor complaints need a decision from a Panamanian court.
What will Sealname never ask you?
We never ask for your password, your account number or your domain transfer (EPP) codes by email or chat. We also never ask for:
- an ID document, a passport or ID scan, or a selfie;
- an ID, passport or tax number, or a date of birth;
- a phone number or a postal address;
- card or bank details, or a crypto private key or seed phrase.
There is no exception: one email, nothing else.
A message that asks for any of these is not from us, even if it uses our name. Do not answer it. Forward it to [email protected].
I lost my account number. How do I get back in?
Through the verified email. Your account has no sign-up form and no username: a random 16-digit account number is your login. If you lose it, write to [email protected] from the verified email of one of your domains. Recovery goes only through that verified address.
To avoid the problem:
- store the account number in a password manager;
- keep the verified email working, because it also receives renewal reminders and legal notices;
- update the email in your account before you close an old mailbox. A change of email is verified again, as ICANN requires.
Contact: FAQ
How fast does support reply?
Email replies within 12 hours, 7 days a week, including help with DNS, transfers and renewals. A message with the domain name, what you tried and the exact error gets a useful answer faster. For abuse, write to [email protected] instead: every report receives an automatic acknowledgement with a reference number, and phishing is acted on within 24 hours of a well-documented report.
Can support help me with DNS records and transfers?
Yes. Email replies within 12 hours, 7 days a week, including help with DNS, transfers and renewals. Tell us the domain name, the record or the step that fails, and the exact error message. For a transfer, name the other registrar. We can explain any setting in the client area, such as A, AAAA, CNAME, MX, TXT and CAA records, nameservers, the transfer lock and auto-renew.
Do I need an account to report abuse?
No. Anyone can report a domain registered with Sealname by writing to [email protected]. You do not need to be a customer or to sign in. Include the domain, the URLs and your evidence. Every report receives an automatic acknowledgement with a reference number, so you can follow it up.
Can I send you my account number so you find my account faster?
Please do not. We never ask for your password, your account number or your domain transfer (EPP) codes by email or chat. Give us the domain name instead, and write from the domain's verified email if you can. That lets us confirm that the request comes from the registrant without exposing your login.
I received an email that says it is from Sealname. Is it real?
Check what it asks for. We never ask for your password, your account number, your transfer codes, an ID document, card details or a seed phrase. If a message asks for any of these, or links to a page that does, it is not from us. Do not answer it, and forward it to [email protected] so that we can act on it.
Where is Sealname based?
Sealname is operated by DomaineGoat LLC, an ICANN-accredited registrar incorporated in Panama. Customer data goes out only on a Panamanian court order (or on an urgent request under ICANN rules), as our disclosure policy explains; foreign authorities go through Panamanian legal process. Customers can be anywhere: support and abuse reports work by email. Read more on the about page.
Can I write in another language than English?
Support works in English. Short, plain sentences are best: they avoid mistakes about DNS records, transfer codes and payment networks. If English is hard for you, a translation tool is fine. Keep technical details, such as the domain name and the amount sent, exactly as they are.
